Rose-breasted Grosbeak

The Rose-breasted Grosbeak is a fairly common statewide breeder. Breeding habitat includes forest edges and open woodlands with shrubs. A significant decrease in 2003 coincides with the spread of West Nile Virus, but more research is needed to establish a connection. Improved data in the 2013 BCN Survey now indicates a significant moderate increase for this species. Photo: © Gregg Williams
