Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

The Blue-gray Gnatcatcher is an uncommon but rapidly increasing breeder in the Chicago Wilderness Region. It has expanded its range northward significantly during the past twenty years. BCN trends show a sizeable, significant annual increase. This species nests in a wide variety of habitats, but often in open areas of mixed deciduous trees, especially oak woodlands.
