| Conservation Concern: NONE Population Trend: Substantial Increase The Savannah Sparrow is a fairly common to common breeder in the CW Region, uncommon to rare further south. Breeding habitat includes dry grasslands, moist grasslands, and abandoned fields. This species is fairly well monitored by the BCN Census and has increased substantially in preserved areas, despite declining BBS trends for Illinois during the same periods. |
