| Conservation Concern: NONE Population Trend: Stable The Indigo Bunting is a common statewide breeder. Breeding habitat includes a variety of open woodland habitats with little understory. Both short-term and long-term trends indicate that this species is stable or increasing very slightly in the Chicago Wilderness Region. This highly adaptable species regularly nests in non-native plants like garlic mustard. |
