The first round Important Bird
Areas have been designated!
On October 6, 2004, 48 Illinois IBAs were announced. Some of the top
sites for many of our state's Bird Species of Conservation Concern,
and for concentrations of waterfowl, raptors, wading birds,
shorebirds and wintering birds were selected.
