____ DUPAGE COUNTY ______________________________________

On February 20th at Waterfall Glen, a BARRED OWL was seen along Sawmill
Creek north of the iron bridge.  A couple YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were
also seen.

A report that accidently didn't get included last week, but is still
worth mentioning:  A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was seen roosting in some
buckthorn at West Branch Forest Preserve on March 11th.

SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS have been reported from a number of locations.

SANDHILL CRANES have been seen flying over at a number of locations
this week.

____ KANE COUNTY ______________________________________

Highlights at Burnidge F.P. on February 24th included TURKEY VULTURE,
SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, and flyover SANDHILL CRANES.

Highlights near Hampshire F.P. this week include RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCHES and RUSTY BLACKBIRD.

____ FERMILAB SIGHTINGS _______________________________

At FermiLab on February 18th an adult BALD EALGE was seen at the south
end of A.E. Sea.  A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was seen on February 21st.

A variety of ducks and GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE continue to be seen
on the Main Ring Lake (restricted).

____ UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS _____________________________
 
Sunday, February 27, 7:00 a.m. Mississippi River Eagles. 
This will be an all day trip to visit several sites along the
Mississippi River to see Bald Eagles (sometimes hundreds!), other
raptors, gulls and waterfowl. On the return trip, we may make a few
stops in Lee or DeKalb Co. to look for Longspurs, Snow Buntings, game
birds, and raptors. Meet at 7:00 AM in the parking lot southwest of the
main building of Yorktown Mall (facing the intersection of Butterfield
Rd and Highland Ave.). Bring scopes, walkie-talkies and dress for the
cold. A personal ID (drivers license) may be required at some viewing
areas. This trip is limited to 20 people (8 cars) so please sign up
with the leader after February 1.

Saturday, March 5, 8:00 a.m. McKee Marsh. 
Meet at the parking lot on the north side of Mack Rd., located between
Winfield Rd. and Rt. 59 in Warrenville.

Sunday, March 6, 8:00 a.m. Fermilab. 
Enter from either the west side entrance on Pine St. off Kirk Rd, or
the east entrance on Batavia Rd. off IL-59. You must show your driver's
license to the security guard. Tell him you are here for Peter Kasper's
field trip. Meet at the Red Barn on Sauk Circle, the first left after
entering from the east side.
