____ DUPAGE COUNTY __________________________________
The HERMIT WARBLER has NOT been reported at the Morton Arboretum in
Elgin since Friday, January 17th around mid day. If you have seen this
bird since then, please call or e-mail the hotline and report it.

On January 25 and the Morton Arboretum, two EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were seen
in the oaks on the nw. side of Pine Hill and a HERMIT THRUSH was seen
in the pines ne. of Parking Lot 2. A SHARP-SHINNED HAWK was also seen
in the Hermit Warbler area.
At Hidden Lake on January 25, a GREEN-WINGED TEAL was seen along the
river east of the bridge.
____ KANE COUNTY _____________________________________
On January 20th at Elburn Forest Preserve, a NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen
on the south end of the preserve in the field south of the railroad
tracks. The preserve is located on Route 38 (Roosevelt) just west of
Route 47.
A SNOW GOOSE and an AMERICAN WIGEON were seen on the Fox River south of
Butterfield Road in North Aurora on January 25. Two SNOW GEESE were
also seen in South Elgin south of State St.
A CAROLINA WREN and three FOX SPARROWS have been seen regularly in a
backyard in St. Charles.

Saturday, February 8, 2003, 7:00 a.m. Mississippi River Eagles.
On this all day trip we will visit several sites along the Mississippi
River to see Bald Eagles, other raptors, waterfowl, gulls, and other
birds. Limit 20 people (8 cars) -- please register with the leader and

Frolic"
At Winthrop Harbor Yacht Club on the North Point Marina north of Zion.
Please RSVP to one of the leaders so that they can get an idea of how
many people are coming. There is no charge but a suggested donation of
$5.00 is welcomed.
