____ DUPAGE COUNTY __________________________________

The HERMIT WARBLER was seen again at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle on
January 4th around 8:30 a.m. The bird has been seen in an area
south and west of the Four Pillars (which are south of P-2 and south
east of the main parking lot) A map of the general area where the bird

At Greene Valley on January 4th, a NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen near the
entrance on 79th street. An EASTERN PHOEBE was also seen on January
3rd.

Two WINTER WRENS were seen and heard along the stream at Willowbrook
Wildlife Center on January 3rd.

Two AMERICAN WIGEONS were seen at the Yard in Downers Grove on January
1st.

____ KANE COUNTY _____________________________________

The RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD is still being seen in a backyard in Elgin as of
January 4th. Please e-mail the hotline if you would like directions.

A TURKEY VULTURE was seen near Braeburn Marsh on January 1st.

A CHIPPING SPARROW was reported at the nature center feeders at Red Oak
Nature Center on January 4th.

____ UPCOMING MEETING _____________________________

January 9 at 7:00 pm. Members' Night. At Members' Night, the DuPage
Birding Club members show slides or tell stories of trips they have
taken to birding locations both near and far. It's a great opportunity
to survey many birding vacation sites to help in planning your own
future travels. Come and see some beautiful bird photography taken in
some wonderful places. Please bring an appetizer or a dessert to
share.
