On April 13th: Two common loons were seen at West Branch Forest
Preserve. Two horned grebes were seen at Mallard Lake. One horned grebe
was seen at Hidden Lake and an osprey was seen flying over Elsen’s
Hill. A pine warbler was seen at parking lot 8 at the Morton Arboretum.
A yellow-bellied sapsucker and a tufted titmouse were seen at Maple
Grove. A possible common moorhen and a possible Lincoln’s sparrow were
seen at Pratt’s Wayne Woods at Brewster Creek Marsh.

On April 14th: Two horned grebes and a possible eared grebe were seen
at Mallard Lake. A yellow throated warbler was seen at Greene Valley
Preserve along the north edge of the pond. A horned grebe and two monk
parakeets were seen at Hidden Lake.

On April 16th: A pine warbler was seen at Waterfall Glen. A
yellow-bellied sapsucker and a pine warbler were seen at McDowell
Woods. A winter wren and Louisiana waterthrush were seen at Elsen’s
Hill.

A pair of Cooper’s hawks was spotted at Spring Valley Forest Preserve
on April 16th and 17th.

On April 17th: a Louisiana waterthrush and pine warbler were seen at
Waterfall Glen. A Louisiana waterthrush and red-breasted nuthatch were
seen at Elsen’s Hill.

On April 18th: A white-eyed vireo and a horned grebe were seen at
Hidden Lake. A yellow-bellied sapsucker was seen at Blackwell Forest
Preserve. Pine, worm-eating and orange-crowned warblers were seen along
Sawmill Creek at Waterfall Glen.

At the Morton Arboretum on April 19th, pine warbler, horned grebe,
yellow-bellied sapsucker, and red-breasted nuthatch were seen. A
yellow-throated warbler was seen at parking lot 23 and a solitary
sandpiper was found west of Lake Jopamaca.

Also on the 19th, a prothonotary warbler was seen at Waterfall Glen.

On April 20th: A pine warbler, blue-headed vireo and Cooper’s hawk were
seen at McDowell Grove. At Greene Valley, three pine warblers, a
yellow-bellied sapsucker, a probable tufted titmouse and an American
bittern were seen. The bittern was located on the south end of the pond
in the woods. At the Morton Arboretum, an orange-crowned warbler and a
blue-headed vireo were seen NW of Lake Marmo and two pine warblers were
seen on Pine Hill. At Springbrook Prairie, a northern mockingbird was
seen on the east side of Naperville/Plainfield Road just south of the
dog exercise field. Also seen were northern harrier and Lincoln’s
sparrow.
