purple finch fox sparrow white-winged crossbill northern saw-whet owl rough-legged hawk common merganser

On January 9th at Willowbrook Wildlife Center, five purple finches and a fox sparrow were seen at the feeders.

On January 13th at the Morton Arboretum, two immature white-winged crossbills were seen on the west side of the arboretum at Hemlock Hill. The northern saw-whet owl was seen also at Hemlock hill in the yews and north of Crabapple Lake in the yews.

At Springbrook Prairie on January 19th , a rough-legged hawk was seen west of Book Road.

The northern saw-whet owl was relocated north of Crabapple Lake on January 19th at the Arboretum.

At Blackwell Forest Preserve on January 26th , five common megansers were spotted.
