This is the DuPage Birding Club Hotline for Monday, March 5, 2001 at 9:30pm. The last update was on February 26th.

Highlight birds included in this report are:

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE SNOW GEESE MERLIN BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS NORTHERN SHRIKE TUNDRA SWANS VARIED THRUSH

Here are the reports:

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED and SNOW GEESE were seen at Fermilab over the last few days.

A MERLIN was seen at Blackwell on Thursday.

Two male BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS were seen at the Buffalo Wallow on Wednesday.

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and SNOW GEESE were seen at Nelson Lake on Saturday.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was relocated along the entrance road of Greene Valley.

40 TUNDRA SWANS were seen at Fermilab on Monday in the fluddles north of Batavia Road and east of Eola Road.

The southern Naperville VARIED THRUSH has continued to be seen sporadically over the last two months. It was seen on Sunday and Monday at 8:30am and 7am respectively. The address is 27 W 141 96th Ct. and is just south of 95th. The feeder area in the backyard, where the bird has been seen, is not visible from the street.

The next meeting of the DuPage Birding Club will be on Thursday, March 8. This will be on annual auction - visitors are welcome. The book sale starts at 6:30pm and the auction starts at 7:00pm. Please bring any last minute donations by 6:30pm or contact Carl Strang at 630-393-7208.
