This is the DuPage Birding Club Hotline for Thursday, February 22, 2001 at 9:30pm. The last update was on February 22nd in the morning.
Highlight birds included in this report are:
SNOWY OWL
Here are the reports:
After the SNOWY OWL report of this morning, Willowbrook reported that they recently released a Snowy at Midewin Prairie. Anyone chasing this owl should be aware that it may be the released bird.
Here is the report from this morning.
A SNOWY OWL has been seen occasionally in the last few days in Shorewood west of Joliet. Its most recent sighting was on Wednesday afternoon in the Saddlebrook subdivision. Take Black Road west from Route 59 about 1 1/2 to 2 miles. Pass the Tri-County Stockdale grain elevator and go over the railroad tracks. Saddlebrook is just past the tracks. Take the second entrance north and start looking for the owl. It was seen sitting on a lamp post near the entrance was also seen sitting on a large dirt pile further north on the entrance road.
Thank you to everyone who called or emailed reports this week.
The eagle field trip this weekend has been canceled due to expected poor weather. It has been rescheduled to Monday, the 26th. Contact Pat Newman at (630) 323-4806.
