The following birds have been reported from several locations: COMMON MERGANSERS, FLICKERS, COOTS, SANDHILL CRANES (particularly on the 12th with over a thousand reported), LESSER SCAUP, RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, WOOD DUCKS, EASTERN MEADOWLARKS, RING-NECKED DUCKS, GREAT BLUE HERONS, PIED-BILLED GREBES, BUFFLEHEADS and SHOVELERS.

From DuPage County:

At Pratt's Wayne - WOODCOCK were seen in the demo area and camping area on Saturday. 10 BLUEBIRDS were seen in the south part of Pratt's Wayne along with 4 GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLETS on Tuesday. Numerous small flocks of RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were seen along the Prairie Path on Monday. A possible PEREGRINE was also seen. SANDHILL CRANES have also been spotted on the ground at Pratt's Wayne.

At Rice Lake - 2 RUDDY DUCKS and 1 HORNED GREBE were seen on Friday.

At Hidden Lake - GREEN WINGED TEAL were seen on Friday. A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE and a pair of HOODED MERGANSERS were seen on Saturday.

At Springbrook Prairie - 2 BLUEBIRDS were found on Monday along with 2 SNIPE, 2 NORTHERN HARRIERS and 5 FOX SPARROWS.

At Frontenac Marsh - On Monday, a GREAT HORNED OWL was in the willows and 2 CANVASBACKS were also found.

At McDowell Grove - A CAROLINA WREN was near the picnic area near the parking lot.

At Fermilab - on Friday, a BREWER'S BLACKBIRD was at the Buffalo Feeders. On Monday, HORNED GREBE were on Lake Law. GADWALL and WIGEON were at the Eola Road fluddle north of Batavia Road. A FOX SPARROW was at the feeders on the 15th. On the 16th, HOODED MERGANSERS, BLACK DUCKS, GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, WIGEON, GREEN-WINGED TEAL, PINTAIL, CANVASBACK, GOLDENEYE, and a GREAT HORNED OWL were found.

At Herrick Lake - a BLUEBIRD was seen on the 15th.

At Blackwell - HORNED GREBE, BLACK DUCK, WIGEON, CANVASBACK, GOLDENEYE and RUDDY DUCK were found on the 16th.

At Fullerton Park - a COWBIRD and SWAMP SPARROW were found on Saturday.

At McKee Marsh - a GREAT HORNED OWL and a half dozen HOODED MERGANSERS were found on the 12th.

At Songbird Slough - PINTAIL, MUTE SWAN, GREEN-WINGED TEAL and CANVASBACK were seen on the 12th.

At Argonne - a TURKEY VULTURE flew over on Thursday.

From Kane County:

At Denny Road Marsh - 5 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and a pair of SANDHILL CRANES, on the ground, were seen on the 8th.

At Nelson Lake - 25 SNOW GEESE and 25 SANDHILL CRANES were seen on the 9th.
