Summer Tanagers are usually found in dense mature forests. The Morton Arboretum has been very good in recent years. Elsen's Hill and Herrick Lake are also good locations for this species.  The Summer Tanager is a rare migrant in the spring and an extremely rare summer bird in DuPage County.
