Horned Grebes are usually found in marshes or very deep lakes. Best spots to see them include Mallard Lake, Nelson Lake, The Fox River, and West Branch. They have also been seen in the past at McKee Marsh and Hidden Lake. Horned Grebes are uncommon in early and late spring, rare in late fall, and extremely rare during other seasons.
