This probable Glossy Ibis showed up at FermiLab's Swenson Road Pond in late July providing some people with fairly close looks at it. Nonetheless, a juvenile bird of this species (like the one shown here) is still very difficult to distinguish from a juvenile White-Faced Ibis. The bird pictured above frequented Swenson Rd. Pond for four days before leaving. The Glossy Ibis, normally found along the East Coast and Gulf Coast periodically strays further inland.
