Usually found in marshy areas.  Good locations include Pratt's Wayne Woods, Springbrook Prairie, FermiLab, and other large marshes.  The Common Moorhen with young pictured above was seen at Tri-County State Park. Common Moorhens are becoming increasingly difficult to find in DuPage County.
